Founded in 1889, Matthews Book Company is
comprised of three distinct but affiliated
companies: Matthews Medical Books, an
employee-owned company which has earned a
long-standing reputation as one of the
nation's leading distributors of health
science books and multimedia products
representing over 5,000 publishers; Matthews
Medical Bookstores, a retail company
specially dedicated to the health sciences,
operating health science bookstores across
the United States; and, McCoy Surgical
Supply, a distributor of over 2,000 medical
equipment and supply products. Matthews and
McCoy base their headquarters out of a
centrally located 80,000-square-foot
facility in St. Louis, MO. A second
distribution center located in Fairfield,
NJ, serves the northeast. As an
organization, Matthews' mission is to
support the advancement of the health
sciences by being the premier source for the
latest in health science information
products and by delivering exemplary service
to the institutions that bring this
information to the health science community.
